Luke Closson is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and has been a Valdosta resident since 1966. He came to Moody Air Force Base as a student pilot and was assigned as an instructor pilot in the T-38 aircraft. He is a 1979 graduate of the Woodrow Wilson College of Law, Magna Cum Laude, and is admitted to the Georgia and Federal Bars.
I was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia. I have lived in South Georgia for my entire life except for a brief time that I spent in Athens, GA while attending law school. I have practiced law since 1988. I have assisted injured workers in their workers’ compensation claims and have defended people accused of all manner of crimes since 1991.
Ms. Tomberlin limits her practice solely to the field of Social Security. She represents Social Security claimants at all stages from the initial application through the Appeals Council. Although the majority of her Social Security cases are disability claims, she has also handled a variety of other Social Security issues.
Luke E. Closson III was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia. He graduated from Valdosta State College and earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in 1988. After receiving his commission, he left Valdosta and served over 25 years in the United States Air Force as a Logistics Officer, retiring in 2017 in the grade of Colonel.
Brenda has been with the firm for over 27 years. She oversees the office and the staff. She also works along side of Ms. Tomberlin in all disability cases. She has been working on disability cases for 25 years. She can answer most if not all of the questions you may have from applying for benefits to having a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge. It is her passion, along with Ms. Tomberlin, to see that you receive the benefits to which you deserve as timely as possible.
Paralegal / Workers Compensation Specialist
Heather has always had a passion for helping people and transferred that passion into the legal field 7 years ago by graduating summa cum laude with a degree in paralegal studies. She has since worked with Luke E. Closson Jr., J. Michael Bass, and Luke E. Closson III in aiding the workers’ compensation and criminal defense clients at Closson, Bass, & Tomberlin. Her goal at the firm is to help clients walk with ease through what is likely one of the hardest times of their life.
Yvonne has been with the firm for over 23 years. She handles all administrative duties throughout the office. She will answer your telephone call and promptly assist you or direct you to the staff that will be able to assist you. She keeps everyone in line and makes sure the office runs efficiently and smoothly. Her goal is to make sure that anyone that calls with a question or concern, it is directed to the correct person to handle.
Joe has been with the firm for over 6 years. He handles a variety of administrative duties that helps others concentrate more of the needs of our clients. Whatever anyone’s needs are in the office, even if it is lunch, he is more than happy to do it. He enjoys taking care of people and trying to bring a smile to everyone’s faces.
